meeting scheduled & latest draft of Special Historic District design guidelines

This concerns the SH district, not South Frankfort and the SC district. However, being aware / involved is still important for South Frankfort and our City as a whole.

Special Historic “SH” district – draft regulations now available and a  neighborhood meeting is scheduled for October 19th 2015, 5:30 p.m. at City Hall

KY History Half Marathon: http://www.kyhistoryhalf.com

Select streets in Frankfort will be temporarily closed or have limited access during the KY History Half.

Our race begins at 8 a.m. on Ann Street next to the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History.  We have a 3 hour 30 minute time limit and expect all runners/walkers to be finished by about 11:30am.

Downtown traffic impacted includes: Broadway, High Street (from Broadway to Mero), Holmes Street (from High to Reagan), Wilkinson (between Broadway and Main), Main (from Wilkinson to Frankfort Cemetery entrance), Capitol Avenue, Frankfort Cemetery area and on Old Lewis Ferry (from Wilkinson Blvd. to about .3 miles past the back entrance of Buffalo Trace Distillery).  Some roads will be closed while others will be limited by police.  We expect all of our runners to be clear of most of the downtown area by about 9:30am.  After that the only roads impacted will be Ann, Broadway and Wilkinson (from Broadway to Main).

Runners will be on Old Lewis Ferry from about 8:45-10:30am.  This road will be open for local traffic but we encourage all to use caution as there will be some 400+ runners on this road.

Volunteers working the race, along with the police and emergency personnel, will be along the route to keep everyone safe. We appreciate your patience  and support during this time.
