Dear SFNA members,
The Frankfort Independent School board is announcing the hiring of a new Superintendent tomorrow Wednesday July 29th at 5 pm. We are encouraging all SFNA members and friends to meet at the FIS central office for a massive celebration. The central office is located in the old Push building on Wilkinson blvd. This will be a joyous occasion for all, please come if possible.

clarification from Gary Muller:
The special capital boundary (South Frankfort) and discussions have not been voted on or finalized. The draft document mentioned below is for across the river in the SH district.
However, it is likely that that version may be considered to be applicable for the remaining Special Capital district (if it is reduced) and would be good to compare. Staff had suggested at the last South Frankfort meeting that if the boundary was reduced as much as some has requested, then the remaining areas might ought to follow the same as the Special Historic – proposed draft – guidelines.
Because a grant was awarded for the draft SH district guidelines – it has a specific time-frame to keep the funding, so we are concentrating on that , then we can compare it to what we have in South Frankfort to see if it would be appropriate to make them the same, or reduce the boundary and use them, or to draft an entirely different set for South Frankfort. I hope this helps explain where we are.
new Historic Design Guidelines for the SH local historic district.
Under a grant from KY Heritage Council the consultant has prepared a finalized draft of Historic Design Guidelines for the SH district.
It is available on our department’s website and a color copy is being provided at the Public Library. Our first zoning update meeting is scheduled for August 3rd, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

July 23rd Back to School Night Frankfort High School
5:30 – 7:30 families can pick schedules/census forms and pay fees
6:00 – we will be having hotdogs and so forth in the café
6:45 – Short meeting in the auditorium (staff introductions – short)
7:00-7:30 continue with the schedules/census forms and fee payment
30 July 2015 FHS Football and the SFNA will be having a joint fundraiser night at Casa Fiesta at 5:30pm, come support two great organizations
The next South Frankfort Neighborhood Association quarterly meeting will be 20 Aug 2015. This meeting will feature information on the new Aquatic Center and other Parks & Rec opportunities presented by Jim Parrish and Larry Montgomery.
