SFNA Candidate Forum 2016: we are again holding a public forum for City Commission candidates, Thursday October 27th 2016 from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Frankfort High School Auditorium.
This year Frankfort High School and the Tanglewood and Montrose Park neighborhood associations are partnering with SFNA to present the forum. Please add this to your calendars and plan to attend.
Quarterly Meeting called – the next SFNA quarterly meeting will take place on Thursday Oct 13 2016 at South Frankfort Presbyterian.
We will start with a potluck social hour at 6pm and the meeting will commence at 7pm. The agenda for the meeting is simple: SFNA business & discussion and one guest speaker.
Our guest speaker this time will be Frankfort City Police Chief, Jeff Abrams. Chief Abrams will present on several topics of community interest & concern and we will also have a Q&A period where he will hear citizen ideas / issues.
If you can bring a dish to the potluck please let us know so we can fill in the gaps.
All persons are welcome to attend.

Kentucky Historic Preservation Tax Credits: What, Why, and How
Did you know that Kentucky offers Historic Preservation Tax Credits? If your property is on the National Register of Historic Places you may be eligible for a tax credit. Check out this video for information on how to apply.

The next City Commission work session will be 7 Sept 2016 at 5pm. This replaces the regularly scheduled meeting which would have taken place on the 12th.
The Frankfort Independent Board of Education will hold community forums for school district residents on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, and on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Both forums will begin at 6:00 pm and will be held at the Paul Sawyier Public Library community room, 319 Wapping Street, Frankfort, Kentucky.
All residents of the district are encouraged to attend.
The board will provide information on a tax that the district is eligible to levy that will be matched by state government funds. The levy would be 5 cents per $100 of property value and would be restricted to the improvement of school buildings.
The board of education asks for the participation of the school district community on this levy.
