opening on Architectural Review Board

The City of Frankfort is looking for persons to represent the American Institute of Architect (AIA) for Historic areas of Frankfort on the Architectural Review Board (ARB).  Responsibilities of the ARB include reviewing applications for new construction in historic districts, and hearing and ruling upon requests for additions and demolitions.

The duties of the ARB are described in detail in Article 17 of the City’s Zoning District Regulations.  ARB member Qualifications include:

•    Must reside within the corporate limits of Frankfort
•    Must be a member of the American Institute of Architects
•    Have a known interest in Historic Preservation
•    Be able to attend monthly meetings of the ARB
•    Be able to attend at least one informational/educational meeting per year, as approved by the Kentucky Heritage Council

Letters and resumes should be received no later than April 15, 2012.  The person selected by the Mayor will be recommended to the Frankfort Board of Commissioners for approval.
