March & April SFNA e-news

Dear Neighbors!

Happy Spring (or on some days summer) to all! I hope that everyone has adjusted to the Singing Bridge closure (when we hear an estimate on its opening again, we will pass the news along). I also hope that everyone is getting used to seeing kids around the neighborhood during the daytime since Frankfort Independent Schools are on spring break until Monday, April 9. With the warmer weather happening our little community starts bustling back to a busier lifestyle, we’ve had the NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship here for the first time and we look forward to two more years and hopefully many more with them, we’ve had a new business move in on Second Street (relating to automotive restoration), and the tulips on the Capitol lawn are in full bloom – so that means Derby is also right around the corner.

Some specific neighborhood association news:

The Executive Committee and Full Board will meet on Thursday, April 5 to finalize the agenda for the quarterly meeting and finalize our thoughts on a tribute from the SFNA to Bruce Cassidy. If you have any ideas on either subject, then please let us know by 4/5.
SFNA will distribute a flyer prior to the quarterly meeting, please contact us if you have any information to include by 4/5. (Also if you are interested in helping distribute, we would love to have your help!)

The next quarterly meeting of the neighborhood association with be Thursday, April 19. We will open the doors around 6 p.m. for a social hour which includes dinner (if you are able to make a contribution to the scholarship fund, it would be appreciated). Our meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will focus on “Gardens big and small – advice and fun for one and all.”

Please be sure to check out the SFNA website at www.southfrankfort.org or the Facebook page. If you would like additional information, wish to add someone to our e-mail distribution list or remove your name, then please send an e-mail to us. The SFNA Facebook page has about 150 followers and the e-mail distribution list is around 200. We are working on a goal of increasing both of these numbers…would 500 people on each be too much to request? Will you help make this happen? Also, attached is our membership application – we try to keep our annual expenses down, but we do encounter some printing and supply costs.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out and about!
