April 30 – National Drug Take Back Day

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will hold the second National Drug Take Back Day on April 30, 2011 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Several locations around the state of Kentucky will provide a safe and secure location for persons who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

There are environmental and health consequences of the disposal of unused medications that are dumped down drains and toilets and can end up in lakes, streams and watersheds.
