Proposal to design & sell a calendar for the SFNA

An interesting fundraising idea has been presented to the South Frankfort Neighborhood Association (SFNA) board regarding a group effort to publish a calendar that would showcase the South Frankfort community.  This idea was developed by April Smith and was brought up briefly at the last quarterly meeting on February 4th.

This artistic calendar would portray the quality and history of notable homes and commercial buildings in South Frankfort and would enhance the public’s feelings about this historic community.  Since South Frankfort is losing some of its structures, it would be a proactive effort by the group to preserve the area’s history.  Through this calendar the diversity of the neighborhood would be recorded.

What would be needed:

1.  A committee to work together on all phases of developing and publishing the calendar.

2.  Members involved in the selection of the properties to be included in this first calendar.

3.  Suggestions for, and the selection of, the artist to be used.

This could be an effective fundraiser for the Randy Bacon Memorial Scholarship fund.

We need your help!

What you can do:

1.  Be willing to work on the committee to help develop this project

2.  Share your ideas on which homes and commercial buildings you would like to see in the calendar

3.  Share your thoughts about an artist that you would recommend

Please respond to Bruce Cassidy, or Becky Bishop, with your ideas and/or desire to be on the committee for this project by the end of February.
