Community 4th of July activities / SFNA kids parade 2015

South Frankfort Neighborhood Association, Liberty Hall, WalkBike Frankfort, and the Folkbike ReCyclery invite everyone to the Historic Downtown Frankfort area for a day of patriotic celebration and an old-fashioned good time.

In this collaborative effort, the SFNA and Walk/Bike Frankfort will begin the annual kid’s bike, trike, stroller parade from the parking lot at Second Street School on Saturday, July 4 at 1 p.m. We will carefully and safely guide the group to Liberty Hall to enjoy refreshments and a cool treat. At 2:15, Liberty Hall will begin registering individuals for their Patriotic Wheels contest and parade starting at 2:30. Participants will be judged, during Liberty Hall’s bike parade, on their patriotic decorations the first prize winner will receive two tickets to Kentucky Kingdom from Froggy 104.9 and other participants will receive a prize from Liberty Hall.

Stick around Liberty Hall to listen to the 202nd Army Band, participate in one or both scavenger hunts, or jump through the sprinklers. For dinner, go a few blocks over to one of our local restaurants and discover a new favorite dish. Finish the evening in our historic city watching the annual fireworks show presented by the VFW Post 4075. WalkBike Frankfort has requested that the top level of the Capitol Annex parking garage be closed to vehicles (parking available on levels 2-6 with access from Old Lawrenceburg Road).
