SFNA e-news 15 April 2013

Dear Neighbors,

Spring has sprung and many activities around town are happening. Please take a gander at the list below and consider participating more in our local community!

The next quarterly SFNA meeting will be Thursday, 4/19 at 6 p.m. for a light supper (donations accepted to benefit an SFNA supported cause) and social hour before we begin our meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall of the South Frankfort Presbyterian Church on the corner of Steele and West Third Streets. Please use the West Third Street entrance.

During this meeting we look forward to having a structure open discussion on a few issues. The City Commission has been invited to listen to our discussion and we have asked a few others to “lead” the discussion on some of the topics. Your SFNA Board has asked individuals associated with the following topics to be available, if their schedules permit, to provide a little more insight on Form Based Code, the National Register District Boundary Expansion, and the Greening America’s Capitals Project.

Another item to consider at this meeting is designating a contact person to receive nominations and facilitate the election of SFNA officers at the July quarterly meeting. Please consider being involved with this process and let me know either before the meeting or during. The SFNA bylaws are attached to explain the various officer and committee chair capacities. Also, if you are interested in running for one of our offices, then please feel free to chat with any of your current officers.

On Saturday, the SFNA is hosting its annual Clean-Up South Frankfort day. Meet us at 9:30 on the FHS front lawn along Shelby Street on Saturday, April 20. SFNA will provide water, donuts, and bananas along with gloves, hand sanitizer, and trash bags. The light breakfast is to fuel our bodies so we can pick up litter along the streets of South Frankfort. We ask that you bring your friends and neighbors to join us. With enough people, the clean-up activity will last about an hour. For additional information or questions, please respond to this e-mail or send a new e-mail to us.
