Dear Neighbors,

Thank you to all that attended our April quarterly meeting. We accomplished a lot and heard from many of our local organizations. Attached are minutes from the meeting and also the newly adopted bylaws for our association. A side note, within the minutes document it states that the treasurer’s report is attached, unfortunately the treasurer’s report is not saved on the computer that is sending this e-mail, so if you wish to receive this report, please respond and let us know.

The primary purpose of this e-mail is to give you the list of events that are happening in South Frankfort and Downtown Frankfort over the next month and a half. Good luck attending everything this weekend.

Friday, 5/20 – Bike to work! There will be a breakfast tables (7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) set-up on the corner of Second Street and Shelby Streets and also at the Transportation Cabinet Bike Racks on Mero Street and also at the Cornerstone Art Gallery on Broadway and High Street. Please keep an eye out for the alternative commuters. Hosted by Walk/Bike Frankfort and Folkbike reCyclery.

Friday, 5/20 to Sunday, 5/22 – Frankfort High School presents The Pirates of Penzance.
Swashbucklers and scoundrels arrive at Frankfort High School’s Auditorium as the cast and crew presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE! Performances will be Friday, May 20th at 7 pm; Saturday, May 21st at 1 pm; and Sunday, May 22nd at 1 pm. The dramatic and hilarious story involves a Pirate King and his apprentice who turns against him, a crew of crime-stopping policemen, a bevy of beautiful maidens in distress, and a famous Modern Major General. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and children. Seating is general admission, and tickets may be purchased at the door. Please contact Karin Pulliam at (502) 875-8655 with questions.

Friday, 5/20 – Franklin County Council on Family Abuse is hosting their annual “Steak”holder supper from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Methodist Church. Please see the attachment for additional details.

Friday, 5/20 – Pro.Active 5K race, 6:30 p.m. Featuring live music by Toe Jam on St. Clair. (Race begins on Main, to Wilkinson, up Broadway, Ann, Capital Avenue, around the Capital, back down Main and finishing on Broadway…these roads will be closed during the race) Info:223-7403

Monday, 5/23 to Friday, 5/27 – National Bike to Work Week!

Monday, 5/23 – Franklin County Community Council meeting. The agenda and the minute from the April meeting are attached.

Friday, 5/27 – Downtown Frankfort summer concert series begins with Phat Mattress and Yellow Dye #5 on the lawn of the Old Capitol.

June 2 to June 5 – Capital Expo celebration downtown.

Saturday, June 4 – South Frankfort Presbyterian Church Fair

Saturday, June 4 – Fishfry at 11:30 at Frankfort High Cafeteria to benefit the FHS Football team

Monday, June 13 – SFNA Picnic Planning meeting at 6:30 at the Dragon. If you are interested in being involved with the annual SFNA picnic, please join Christa Sweger and Katie Carney at the Dragon.

Tuesday, June 14 – SFNA Executive Committee and Board meeting at Tony’s house.

Friday, June 17 – Star War’s at the Grand Theater
