Frankfort, Kentucky — April 1, 2018 — With the planned rally in Frankfort, Monday,  April 2, 2018, we are anticipating there will be traffic related issues in the south Frankfort area around the Capitol, starting before 8:00 a. m. until 3:00 p. m., or longer. The rally is expected to draw a large number of people from around Kentucky.

Street closures:

Capitol Avenue will be shut down on both sides, between Third Street and Campbell Street beginning at 8:00 a. m. and ending at approximately 3:00 p. m.

The rally will be in front of the Kentucky Education Association building on Capitol Avenue.

At approximately 10:00 a. m., all of Capitol Avenue will be shut down as people walk from the KEA building to the Capitol. Frankfort Police Department will provide an escort to get people to the Capitol safely.

Frankfort residents who live on the east side of Capitol Avenue may use Logan Street to Second Street and residents who live on the west side of Capitol Avenue may use Shelby to Second for getting into and out of south Frankfort.

Frankfort Police Department will have officers posted at all street corners along Capitol Avenue to assist with traffic and any questions.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to make this a safe event for all involved. Thank you, for your understanding.
